The Evolution of Wrestling Singlets | thepearlsbookclub.com

August 13th, 2011 by admin

In a nutshell, wrestling singlets refer to the uniforms that wrestlers wear when they compete with one another. However, they aren?t just regular uniforms. A lot of things actually go into the manufacturing of these singlets, but the three most important things that need to be taken into consideration during this process are their overall functionality, comfort and looks.

Manufacturing companies of sporting goods usually work hard on these three elements during the design process because the perfect balance has to be struck. That?s right. Even the overall look of these uniforms can?t be sidelined since wrestlers have to compete on a mat in very adverse conditions that require both confidence and skill.

Thanks to modern scientific developments within the last couple of decades, various things have occurred in the dynamics of these wrestling singlets: spandex and lycra material came into the picture and joined the world of wrestlers in their uniforms.

Believe it or not, these materials in themselves have complete changed the dynamics of these uniforms and are now much more advantageous than their older polyester and nylon counterparts. Not only are wrestling singlets flexible, light and comfortable now, but they have made a very revolutionary change in how the uniforms are made altogether, as well.

Although spandex and lycra wrestling uniforms weren?t exactly easy to embroider in the beginning and ink still won?t stretch properly on them, people used to have trouble getting the appearance that they wanted onto their uniforms. Fortunately, swiss embroidery and sublimation processes have already solved this particular problem. In fact, these processes have even taken things up a notch.

Thanks to these new processes, wrestling uniforms now have more color combinations than ever and no longer have restrictions when it comes to graphic design. Also, logos of countries, companies and clubs can be added to the design with ease, and anything that is printed onto the uniforms with sublimation ends up lasting much longer, as well.

Yes, thanks to high technical supports, sports goods manufacturers can now produce a lot of designer wrestling singlets and youth wrestling singlets while still following the international standards of the sport. How great is that?
