Thad McCotter owned up to being "bummed" about REM's breakup Wednesday, but was his depression enough to drive him from the 2012 Republican primary race?

The Michigan congressman tells the Detroit News this afternoon he's dropping out of the primary and throwing his support to rival Mitt Romney, whom he's repeatedly likened to President Obama in recent months.
