First Nation Exhibition Tour To Highlight Liberace's Life and Legacy

Saint Paul, MN (PRWEB) September 29, 2010 As one door closes another one opens. So it is with the Liberace Museum that will close its doors on October 17 after 31 years of operation. Concurrently, Exhibits Development Group (EDG) announces the forthcoming exhibition, Liberace. The Original King...

To prepare for the event, girls chose from among the racks of vintage formal attire available that afternoon. Dresses ranged from yellow satin with rosebuds and golden curlicues to purple crushed velvet with pink sequins.

Eva Arnold, 5, of Schererville donned a pink dress with light blue mid-section and matching pink tiara and long beaded necklace.

?I wore a crown. It?s pretty,? Eva said. ?I never went to a tea party before. I was surprised about all the stuff. I like the dresses and hats.?

After they were dressed, the girls sat at small wooden tables, which were painted with colorful designs. They dined on cheese cubes, grapes, strawberries, finger sandwiches and cupcakes and sipped pink lemonade, which was poured from elegant china teapots into delicate teacups and saucers.

Grownup guests were served gourmet salads in tall wine glasses. The adult tables were adorned with porcelain dolls, flowers, candelabras, jewelry, a carousel horse and more.

When Will He Marry Me? Signs Your Guy is Close to Popping the Question

When will he marry me? That's a question you may think about asking a psychic. It's really hard to know when your man is going to pop the question if he's not giving you any information. Some men will talk about marriage but vaguely. These are the type who says...

Kimberly Newberry of Cedar Lake depicted an eccentric character who donned a polka-dotted dress, oversized shoes, eyeglasses adorned with a large sticker of the Eiffel Tower, long white gloves and other eye-catching attire.

Newberry fashioned her character after her own grandmother, whom she said was hospitable, offering food and drink to all who visited. Several of the teacups used in the traveling tea party once belonged to Newberry?s grandmother. She purchased others from antique stores in various locations and began collecting little girls? dress-up clothing and other items.

While the group sipped their tea and lemonade, Newberry sat on park bench near wooden trees with brown and orange balloon ?leaves.? In a heavy British accent, she read stories of fancy tea parties, and then discussed the art of accessorizing one?s outfit with purses, jewelry and more. She explained and encouraged social graces and family manners fit for each young princess.

Later, the girls created door hangers, which they decorated with foam stickers and colorful markers. Afterward, their mothers joined them in a game of musical chairs. Each contestant was given a large ring pop to take home.

Samantha Mercado, 7, of Schererville wore a hot-pink gown that day. The skirt was overlaid with tulle netting, and a pink rose was attached at the hip.

?I like to dress up at home,? Samantha said. ?I wanted to come here because I thought we would have fun. My favorite thing is making the crafts. This is fun.?
