Josh Hamilton will continue to give away souvenir baseball

Josh Hamilton intends to continue giving fans souvenirs.

After the family of Shannon Stone, the firefighter who fell to his death in July after reaching over a railing for a souvenir ball from Hamilton, implored him to keep up the practice, the Rangers outfielder said Friday afternoon that he will.

"My intent will continue to be to toss baseballs to fans in the stands," Hamilton said in a quote released by the Rangers. "However, I am also very mindful that this needs to be done in the right circumstances. Giving away baseballs during a game is an important part
of how we interact with our fans. I assess each situation to make certain it is done safely. I appreciate the comments by Mrs. Stone and my prayers are with the Stone family."
