RESPONSIBILITIES:? The Paul Robeson Library at Rutgers-Camden is seeking an innovative, energetic, service oriented librarian to join a team of library faculty committed to providing first-rate public services to a diverse academic community. Reporting to the Director of the Paul Robeson Library, the Reference/Instruction librarian will provide general and specialized reference and research assistance locally and, through Rutgers? virtual reference services, university-wide.? The librarian will provide support to faculty and students through the integration of digital resources, methodologies, technologies, and analytical tools with traditional resources and approaches to research and instruction.? The position includes collection development and faculty liaison responsibilities for subject areas to be determined by the candidate?s expertise. As a participant in a dynamic and pro-active user education program, the librarian will develop and offer user-centered instruction sessions and design web-based instructional materials. The candidate will participate in the delivery of the first-year information literacy program and the Libraries' information literacy efforts. As a member of a university-wide faculty, the Reference/Instruction Librarian will participate routinely in system-wide initiatives and committee work and participate in digital projects. This is a tenure-track appointment. The successful candidate must demonstrate commitment to professional development through scholarly research relevant to areas of responsibility including publications, presentations and participation and leadership in the work of relevant professional associations. The position includes occasional evening and weekend hours.

QUALIFICATIONS:?? Required: ALA-accredited Master?s degree in Library and Information Science and at least one year of experience as an academic librarian. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a collegial environment. Experience with web based instruction. Preferred: Experience with digital library projects and related software products

SALARY:? Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
