But "Mad Men" Season 6 has been chock-full of more GIF-able moments than ever before.

In honor of the end of Season 6 (finale airs Sunday, June 23 at 10 p.m. ET on AMC), let's look back on the moments that made us laugh (Pete falling down the stairs), cringe (Dawn and Joan's hug), cheer (Ken's tap dancing) and gag (Don pukes at Roger's mom's funeral) this season on "Mad Men" with the GIFs below.

AOL launching their own Google Reader replacement, request an invite on June 24

Android Central

Another suitor enters the arena for the post-Google Reader world, Android app and third-party API included

AOL -- remember them? -- has quietly emerged as yet another potential Google Reader replacement, with the launching of AOL Reader. Launch is a pretty soft word to use at the moment as it's pretty much impossible to get in, though the folks at Engadget -- another AOL company -- say that invite requests will be accepted from June 24. Of particular interest is the news that AOL Reader will come at some point with an Android application, and that the API will be made available for third-party apps to hook into.

Can the UK ease Europe's deadlock on GM crops?

Today UK environment minister Owen Paterson called for Europe to "find a way forward for GM", but with so many European countries opposed to genetically modified crops, what are his chances of changing the status quo?

What does Paterson want, and why?

Paterson believes that farmers in Europe, and more specifically in the UK, are missing out on crops that could simultaneously improve yields and make farming less harmful to the environment. He says that elsewhere in the world, GM crops have enabled farmers to massively reduce the amount of pesticide they spray because the plants are genetically modified to protect themselves against pests.

There's also evidence, he says, that planting GM crops reduces soil erosion because farmers do not need to plough the land to get rid of weeds, which also saves fuel and reduces carbon dioxide emissions.

Are these claims true?

There is general agreement among independent scientists that they are, although environmental groups opposed to GM crops always challenge these claims. PG Economics, a consultancy in Dorchester, UK, that regularly analyses industry and government data on the performance of the crops, estimates that between 1996 and 2011, farmers using GM crops avoided spraying 474 million kilograms of pesticides, saving $98 billion overall. Reductions in ploughing meant fuel savings equivalent to taking 6.5 million cars off the roads for a year.

Downsides include weeds becoming resistant to the weed-killer that is sprayed on herbicide-resistant crops and pests developing resistance to crops designed to kill them.

Are any GM crops currently grown in Europe?

Only a type of maize called MON810, and this is only grown in Spain. The maize was approved in 1998, and apart from a type of potato that is no longer available, it is the only GM crop to have been given approval for cultivation in the EU.

Who decides whether a crop is approved, and whether it is cultivated?

All applications go to the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). After assessing the scientific data, the authority clears crops that in its judgment pose no threat to the environment or human health. But the final say on whether to allow crops to be grown rests with Europe's member states. Countries opposed to GM crops such as Austria can vote against and therefore block Europe-wide approval. If no consensus is found after years of trying, the European Commission has the power to unilaterally approve the crop, which is what happened with the maize and the potato.

So could British farmers grow MON810?

Yes, if they wanted to. MON810 has been banned by some countries but they are effectively defying European law by doing so. This is because EU law holds that bans can only be justified if countries provide new scientific evidence showing that the crop in question would harm human health or the environment. France, for example, banned MON810 five years ago, but its "scientific" submissions to justify the ban were rejected as groundless by the EFSA, effectively putting France in breach of European law. A bloc of other central-European countries including Hungary and Austria have unilaterally banned GM crops altogether, but again are technically violating EU law.

It's a bit of a mess then?

Absolutely. The European Commission tried to get around the impasse in 2010 by proposing new rules that would allow countries to ban GM crops for non-scientific reasons ? for example, if citizens voted unanimously to ban them. But the proposal is still in limbo because the UK, Germany and France objected to any retreat from approvals based solely on objective scientific data.

So how likely is it that Paterson will be able to make Europe more GM-friendly?

According to Peter Lund of the University of Birmingham, UK, public opposition to GM in Europe has not gone away. The latest Eurobarometer survey of thousands of Europeans found that 61 per cent still oppose GM crops. And, he says there are problems in finding a political compromise with countries that oppose GM. "What to do when half the countries want to do one thing and the other half want to do the opposite is a real problem," says Lund. "It's hard to get a decent debate going when people have such strongly polarised views." Lund suspects Paterson's move is an opening gambit ? a toe in the water ? that could be the prelude to a larger campaign, depending on the reaction, both in the UK and in Europe.

A spokeswoman for the UK Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs told New Scientist that countries that oppose GM crops are "entitled to their view, but it is wrong for member states who are open to the safe use of GM crops to be prevented from moving forward by the EU deadlock". In the UK, for example, a blight-resistant potato could be a "real boon", enabling disease-free harvests without the need to apply fungicides.

Are there any other reasons to "go GM"?

Paterson also pointed out that we need all possible technologies to be able to feed a growing world population that could, according to recent revisions by the United Nations, reach 9.6 billion by 2050.

Milan moves to reinvent fashion week

MILAN (AP) ? Burberry has packed up for London, abandoning Milan after a decade of menswear fealty. Giorgio Armani has scolded Italian designers who regularly show in other fashion capitals. And Donatella Versace even called for a fashion summit in a bid for unity.

Concern that Milan is losing prestige to London, Paris and New York is starting to crack the composure of the city's usually reserved fashion world.

The Italian National Fashion Chamber has been moved to action, announcing a reorganization this spring and making Prada's outspoken CEO Patrizio Bertelli the chamber's No. 2 with the goal of revitalizing Milan fashion.

Bertelli's first act: a letter to restaurants to stay open late during this week's menswear fashion previews that start Saturday. That may seem a small step, but consider that the fashion world spent 120 million euros ($157 million) in Milan over four fashion weeks in 2009, according to Bain & Company figures, a slow year as the key U.S. market was mired in crisis at the time.

Milan may have built-in fashion pedigree, but it does not have the same inherent tourist appeal as the other fashion capitals, which is reflected in their luxury sales that eclipse Milan's ?4.5 billion ($5.9 billion) in 2012. New York was four times that, Paris double and London more than one-third higher, according to Bain.

As for the source of the malaise, the economic crisis that has now stalled over Italy has zapped resources from the fashion houses, local government that might otherwise provide a boost and the world of fashion media and fashion buyers that feed the system.

Fashion insiders and analysts say Milan doesn't do as much as other fashion cities to integrate cultural and artistic events and promote new designers to create buzz.

"For sure, some cities have invested more in creating a very powerful setting," said Claudia D'Arpizio, a Bain partner who analyzes the luxury goods market. "I think that is what the new fashion chamber is going to do, to make Milan very visible."

More recently, designer spats, not cooperation, have been the norm. The summit called by Versace apparently never took place, pre-empted by the fashion chamber's own reorganization.

Armani has put pressure on Italian designers to regularly show their collections in Milan, and not in other fashion capitals, reportedly making their return a condition for his participation on the policy-setting fashion chamber board.

The remarks targeted Prada's second line, Miu Miu, which shows in Paris, along with Valentino's ready-to-wear and couture collections.

Armani pointed out that he has done his part, long taking the last major fashion week slot at the chamber's request to keep the fashion crowd from rushing off to Paris. "Of course, this over time has brought various problems, such as, in some cases, the absence of some of the most important writers," Armani was quoted by Corriere della Sera as saying recently.

He also debunked any logistical difficulties that other fashion houses might have showing two lines in a single week, pointing out that he does it with the Emporio Armani and Giorgio Armani collections, four times a year.

The fashion chamber's long-time president Mario Boselli expressed confidence that the issue would be resolved and Armani would join the board.

"We are confident that with the relaunch of Milan, and some brands will come home," Boselli said in an interview.

He is not promising quick fixes to what are very complex problems, and won't give hints of what's to come, but says some changes will be in place by the September preview shows.

As an early sign of progress, Boselli points out that there will be 78 designers showcased at this week's menswear shows ? more than in previous editions ? and they include runway shows by four new names: two Italians, a German and a Chinese. Armani has opened up his theater to one of them, Andrea Pompilio.

Boselli also was understanding of the Prada Group's decision to show Miu Miu in Paris, especially at a time when many fashion houses, from Versace to Dolce&Gabbana, have abandoned their second lines. In Milan, Miu Miu risks being overshadowed by Prada. "By going to Paris, it's as if there were two first lines, each with its own identity," he said.

As for Burberry's decision to decamp, Boselli accepts it as part of the business. But he takes it as a victory for Milan that British designer Vivienne Westwood did not follow, despite apparent attempts to woo her.

"The people who decide to stay in Milan, do so because they believe in Milan, period," Boselli said.

Is there any chance UFC fighters make good golfers? Urijah Faber is hosting a charity golf tournament that will support the Youth Empowerment Society. Last year, several of his buddies showed up. You be the judge on if Chael Sonnen, Mark Munoz or Faber should make the jump from MMA to golfing. If you want to attend this year's event in July and heckle Faber's golfing skills, click here.
