Although sun is not always a grantee in the UK there are countless places where you can have fantastic holidays in the United Kingdom. The south of the country is best for good weather and because you don?t have to fly the overall cost of the holiday could be much cheaper in the long run than a overseas one.

If you can brave the English summer then you will find you are spoilt for choice when it comes to destinations. The UK literal has everything you could possibly want and its all only a stones throw away from your front door.

Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset all have excellent facilities and stunning beaches, this is also true of many areas in Wales. The UK is well known for its caravan parks where the accommodation is either a static caravan or chalet style bungalow.

In most cases if these parks are booked outside of the school holidays they offer excellent value for money. Some of the parks also have lodges which offer a higher level of space and luxury but they do come with a price tag. Although holiday parks are popular and numerous through the UK it is not the only way to go, you could opt for something a little more interesting such as a tree house or even a renovated steam train carriage.

As well as caravan parks there are a number of other holiday parks that are based around apartment accommodation and offer full board facilities too. These sites will have an array of activities for all ages and are based within an area that makes It easy to access other regional attractions.

Of course there are many traditional hotels around the country, but one of the best ways to holiday in the UK is to rent a cottage. These give you all the creature comforts that you are used to and can offer a quite retreat to those that do not wish to be over crowded by other holiday makers.

If you have a love for the prehistoric then a visit to the Dorset and East Devon coast is a must, here you will find one of UNESCO world heritage sites which starts at Orcombe Point, Exmouth in East Devon all the way to Old Harry Rocks near Swanage which is in East Dorset.

For an active holiday Wales, and especially North Wales, is the place to be. Here they have many locations that are specifically designed to cater for adventure type holiday from zip wires in the tree tops to white water rafting.

If all out relaxation and pampering is on the menu then booking into one of the many spas across the country is ideal, in most cases they are set in glorious grounds and gardens that can be explored at a very leisurely pace. For couples who want to escape and not have the noise of countless children screaming around there are hotels that are specifically adult only resorts.

Whatever you holiday needs there is a destination and accommodation to suit your tastes and budget. A quick internet search will give you a feel for what is available, but if you are not sure on the accommodation but do know where you want to go then it is well worth contact the local tourist board for some useful help and advice.
